A Fun-Filled Week

Hello!!!

What a week it has been! We have had so much fun and I didn't even take pictures of all of it! On Friday my cousin was in town from Pittsburg, so we decided to visit the dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point! I loved watching all the kids hanging out and digging for dinosaur bones! That evening Aaron told me that he wanted to be a paleontologist when he grew up! W00T! Mission accomplished! He wants to be an anything-ologist just like daddy! (Not just like mommy.... I was compensating for my lack of "ologist" skills when I married the hunk I did.) It was a total blast and the kids loved it.

This is Karly in her little apron. She still got all wet and filthy, but isn't she cute in it!?! The kids loved making little rivers in this water and sand thing.

Another cool room in the dinosaur museum explained the science behind several toys and how simple machines worked. Aaron built himself a little "car". Not gonna lie, I was impressed.

I love these kids of mine!!!

The next day Courtney and the kids came to visit! The boys love each other so much. It was a great time. We just hung out like cousins do, you know... video games, pizza, etc... We miss them lots and it was great to see them. Once the kids were in bed Courtney, her sister and I crashed someone who she sort of knew's birthday party at a karaoke bar. I was super cool and drank Pepsi, but it's all good. Mormons get to remember the evening as it truly was ;) I sang some old school Michael Jackson and came home waaaay later than I should have (like 11:30). Man, I'm getting old!

It was stake conference on Sunday and I took the kids! I'm patting myself on the back because stake conference is long for kids. We all made it though and there were some really great talks that I heard a good half of. I'm going to call it a success. I can't wait to have a husband to go to church with and dates and family outings again. Oy how I miss him!

Monday rolled around and I was sooooo happy! Wanna know why!?!?!?! WE WENT TO A HOCKEY GAME!!!! I love hockey. I don't know why, but I truly love it! We went with Grandma Jen, Grandpa "Powerd" (thank you Matthew), and Grandpa Gerry and it was so fun! The kids sat pretty well through the whole game! We won too, which is a plus.

The kids just love their grandparents! It was so fun watching them all interact. Aaron liked it a lot but kept plugging his ears. It was super cute, and Karly just wanted Grandma Jen to take her to look out the window the whole time. I love our family.

I miss Karen. She is my sister in law (Dave's little sis). She passed away in a motorcycle accident a few years ago and it rips me up to go do things like the hockey game without her. I have felt her around in spirit. I'm eternally grateful for the knowledge that I will absolutely get to see her again and spend time with her. She was my rock through some hard times. She was also the bomb as an aunt. I think of her often. Miss you lady.

I digress. Still, She's completely digression worthy. So... hockey game was amazing and fun. We went home and there was a bad storm that stopped Courtney from getting home so we got to see the cousins AGAIN! Woohoo!!!!

Now it's Tuesday! I may be a dingaling.... I was supposed to volunteer in Aaron's classroom today and completely spaced it. Instead I went to water aerobics and my visiting teachers came over... Good things, but super flakey.... oops. While I was chatting with my VT's my dad called and told me we needed to take Kate to meet Elsa tonight! His friend was being Elsa at Chic-Fil-A! It was so cute!!! Kate sang and danced with the princesses. She was pretty put out that I forgot to dress her like a princess, but she forgave me. Yay kids! It was great to spend an evening with my dad and the girls.

So that's a little glimpse into our lives as of late. Things are fast paced and fun. Of course I left out anything less than amazing, but never to worry, we are real people and life isn't 100% butterflies and rainbows. Still, life is good. I miss Dave. I miss him so much it hurts sometimes. He sent me a beautiful Valentines Day card that made me tear up. I'm so grateful and proud to be his wife. I can't wait to be reunited full-time as a family. I'll update as to when that will be when things are more concrete. Until then, we will make this work.

Well, I think it's off to bed for me. Goodnight!

FAIL!

Hello blog!

Guess what? I haven't written a blog since 2015!!! Wow! So... life get's crazy and this is the result. Oh well! Such is life. So, last you heard we had 3 babies, but now we have FOUR! Our newest little one (Karly) is a ripe old 18 months. She is bossy and affectionate and bit a nice chuck out of my Aaron's bum this morning. That is a tale for another time though. Simply put, she bites ;)

Our little Kathryn is four now. She loves to sing and dance and play with all of her many friends. She is going to break hearts one day, but for now we just get to enjoy her spunky cute personality. More to come on Kate. She didn't give me any great material today and that's about how long my memory goes, but not to worry. I intend to actually write  again. It's time. Oh! Also- look at this!!! She looks just like I did!!!!

Matthew... oh Matthew. He is a crack up! See this video and you will understand...

Aaron is awesome. He's just a cool kid. He can climb pretty much anything. He's getting to be a great reader, and he is fun to play video games with. He's also a WONDERFUL big brother to his baby sister.

So there are the kids at a glimpse. Now for Dave and I. Dave is still an incredible husband, father (even more so since he has more kids to play daddy to), student and hard worker. PLUS, bonus- he just lost like 40 lbs so he looks incredible! He's wrapping up his PhD in Miami and looking for a good job out in Utah. He's still the love of my life and although marriage isn't always a walk in the park, we are pretty darn happy. I feel blessed to have such a wonderful man in my life.

As for me, I'm playing the role of stay at home mom/wife/daughter/cab driver/chef/cleaning lady/woman who wants to go live in the bathtub. Life is good. I've missed writing. It really does bring me a lot of happiness. Until next time!
